To some, I am maria the dreamer, but to most, I am carmen wright.
Under various names, my writing has been produced on screen for the television series Neon Rider and the computer games Missing and Sleeping Giant.
Rip Current is my first comic, published online by Zeros 2 Heroes media after having been voted a winner in the first-ever Canada: Comic Creation Nation project, sponsored by Telefilm. My second, Traveller, is included in the Manga Memoirs Volume 1 anthology, also published by Zeros 2 Heroes media.
My most recent initiative is The Writer’s Plan, an online resource for writers who would like to move their careers forward by setting out a formal business plan. The site includes a guidebook and template, to make the process easier.
I’m currrently working on a couple of YA fiction projects, a chapter book series and an idea for an animated feature film. My day-to-day work involves managing a team of professional communicators within a large professional association.
